The country’s largest performing arts center outside of New York City.
Playhouse Square, the country’s second-largest theatre district outside of NYC, wanted to increase ticket sales by appealing to a non-traditional audience who did not think of themselves as the “theatre-going” type.
As a Cleveland design agency, we developed multiple season campaigns, all of which revolved around making the theatre experience accessible to the “everyday” person. Instead of focusing on the glitz and glamour of a Broadway show, our work emphasized the multitude of reasons why someone would want to visit the theatre: a girl’s night out, a way to support the arts, an excuse to go downtown and more!
To bring this concept to life, we built out a suite of colorful marketing materials, including a tri-fold brochure, a pamphlet and web banners. We also created a graphic standards manual so that PlayhouseSquare’s internal resources could design supporting pieces throughout the duration of the season.
Since our campaigns debuted, season ticket sales have increased dramatically, both from renewing and new subscribers. This has helped to fuel a renaissance in the theatre district, leading to increased tourism and an explosion of new businesses in the area.
