Thermo Fisher Scientific, a manufacturer of high-tech scientific equipment and software, needed an illustration for use in brochures and trade show displays promoting their Mass Frontier Software. Per the client, they needed a "graphic representation of the elucidation of the buspirone molecule through mass spectrometry." Of course we had no idea what that meant, but fortunately they already had a good idea of how to depict such a thing!
We drew a 3D illustration of the buspirone molecule and combined it with chromatogram charts, buspirone metabolite structures and a data tunnel. Again, we're pretty clueless as to what those things represent, but with the client's guidance we were able to produce a technically accurate and aesthetic illustration; the client was very pleased with the results!
